Most landowners sell timber once in a lifetime

You only get one shot at getting it right, and that is exactly why this business attracts people who take advantage. Here is what we hold ourselves to instead.

We honor what we put in writing Always

What we put on paper is what we stand by. What we tell you is what we intend to deliver.

We respect the rest of your land BMP standards

Your remaining woods, your roads, your fields and your fences. Your property is an investment and we treat it that way.

You know the terms before work starts No surprises

You should know exactly what you are agreeing to before anybody starts a saw.

What an OFA Master Logger actually is

It is not a sticker. It is a commitment to the Ohio Forestry Association's Best Management Practices and to established chainsaw safety standards on every job.

How selling your timber works

Four steps, and you can stop after any of them.

A diameter tape wrapped around a marked hardwood trunk at chest height
A diameter tape at four and a half feet, on a tree already marked for the sale — every tree, every time.
  1. You call, we come out

Tell us roughly where the property is and how much woods there is. We set a time and walk it with you. No cost.

  2. We tally what is there

Volume, species and grade, tree by tree. That is what tells us the value, and it is the part a lowball offer skips.

  3. You get a written offer

A price, in writing, with the terms spelled out — which trees, what happens to the roads and landings, and how you get paid.

  4. We harvest and clean up

If you sign, we work to BMP standards and leave the property the way we agreed. If you do not, you keep the appraisal.
